Ramon Airport is located at a distance of about 22 km. to the north of the town of Eilat. It serves internal and international tourism to the town and its surroundings, providing an alternative to Ben Gurion Airport. The works at the airport included the laying of takeoff and landing runways to a length of about 3.6 km. and parking aprons for all types of aircraft.
The paving works initially focused on the runways, shuttle paths, and parking areas, while simultaneously casting foundations for all types of aircraft. Following this, the main roads, perimeter fence, and patrol paths were paved. Additionally, advanced environmental development was undertaken within the complex, optimizing the use of local raw materials. The work crews in the field dealt with extreme temperature conditions, making it essential to adhere to work procedures and adopt other engineering and logistical solutions.
